EWmc mission

EWMC 24 is the Electrical Workers Minority Caucus, which is a group within the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) that focuses on promoting diversity, equity, equality, and inclusion in the electrical industry. The purpose of EWMC 24 is to advance these values not only within the IBEW but also beyond it.

Diversity refers to a range of identities and experiences, including race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, and more. EWMC 24 seeks to promote and celebrate diversity in all aspects of the electrical industry, including positions within the IBEW and in the broader field.

Equity refers to fair treatment, access, and opportunities for all individuals, regardless of their background. EWMC 24 aims to create a level playing field for everyone in the electrical industry, particularly those who may have been historically underrepresented or marginalized.

Equality refers to the idea that all individuals should have the same rights and opportunities. EWMC 24 seeks to ensure that everyone in the electrical industry has equal access to resources, opportunities, and representation.

Inclusion refers to creating an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported. EWMC 24 seeks to promote a culture of inclusion in the electrical industry, where everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate, regardless of their background or identity.

History of ewmc 24

The first startup meeting was held on April 27th, 2022. A group of individuals interested in forming a new EWMC chapter came together to discuss the goals and objectives of the chapter, as well as the process for forming it.

The next milestone was the submission of pattern bylaws to the National EWMC on October 25th, 2022. Bylaws are a set of rules and procedures that govern the operations of an organization. The pattern bylaws were likely developed by the members of the new chapter and submitted to the National EWMC for review and approval.

The final milestone was that the new chapter was officially recognized on January 15th, 2023. This means that the National EWMC approved the pattern bylaws submitted by the new chapter and granted it official recognition as a chapter of the organization.
